The Magical Oasis

At first glance she may appear aloof or disjoined from the world, because of her appearance and actions she peforms, but she is actually very alert and focused. She also may appear to be less intelligent than she really is, and most Smili won't take her seriously, but she in fact is very intelligent. As a mountain/desert Smili, her demeanor differs from that of a normal mountain or desert dwelling Smili in the fact that she would normally be very fleet of foot in the mountains, gracefully hopping from one rock to the other or balancing on steep passes, she also carries herself like that in the desert.

Her pale markings cause male Smilis to avoid her. She has given up on ever finding her perfect mate and does not see her own potential as a mother.

She has no clan nor does she feel the urge to join one, she by nature is a loner and enjoys the freedom she gains by not having one. She does notice some Smili choose to live in a clan and knows it is safer, but she likes the life she lives and chooses to keep living it that way.

Though she is a loner she has a small bird pet, an elf owl, who she calls Pleep. The bird has bonded with her over the time they have been together since she accidental caught him instead of a meal, and can either be found perched on her shoulder or flying over her head. The only time Pleep leaves her is when she is leaving for the mountains. It's not know where the bird goes at these times, but it always returns.

Santeria takes to the mountain tops in mid spring and will only return to the desert in late summer and early fall. While up on the mountain she enjoys a fresh assortment of prey that you cannot find in the desert.

She has a passion for collecting small shiny stones and sharp bones but often if she loses interest in them she will leave them behind. She doesn't keep much because she travels a lot and that doesn't leave much room for material possessions, though she does have Pleep who could carry a few very small stones for her.

Her favorite sleeping place is on the ground or on the top of a rock while she is in the desert and while she is on the mountain she usually sleeps in small crags she finds in the cliffs.

She really dislikes getting wet so you'll never catch this Smili fishing and when it rains you may find her huddled under a stone or in a cave away from the storm and its wetness.

She communicates through body language, growls, and the high-pitch shreik that cougars have as a roar. because when she was very young her mother died and after that she was found and raised by a slightly demented cougar who had just lost her only cub and was unable to have anymore and never learned how to speak to other Smilis.

She has only a few significant likes: freedom, Pleep her bird companion, collecting rocks and bones and hunting and trapping dessert and mountain animals. 

Pleep is a small elf owl that she captured but then had no will to eat. At first, she just kept him as a pet, but over time they bonded and became friends and companions. Now Pleep travels with her unless she is going to the mountains

Santeria loves to travel and goes where she wants to when she wants to because she is free. She loves her freedom and doesn't see why some want to be tied down by clans. She has no ties to family or clans because her only family died when she was young so she can't really see their views.

She loves to hunt and when she isn't collecting or traveling you can probably find her hunting . Her favorite is technique is ambush and although it isnt often successful she does have her moments of victory, where the animal didn't see her about to leap.




Her dislikes are simple but they are her's alone. She hates water, dislikes the thought of being in a clan.

For water this an instinctual dislike, she has an inherited fear of mold and molding sicknesses that makes her abhors water. She usually can be found huddled under a rock with Pleep during rain storm and she doesn't ever fish. The only time she goes near water is to drink.

She dislikes the thought of being in clans because she wasn't brought up in one. She has only recently found out about clans. She has no desire to join one however.





Her main weakness is that she wasn't brought up as a normal Smili so she has no knowledge of the basics such as hunting techniqes, trapping, communication.
